 Super - vision An MSc thesis in the Netherlands is often taken lightly and finished after a long period. I strongly disagree with this! Time in computer science can make a great idea look old-fashoned! I expect the MSc students that I will co-supervise to work hard, and plan to finish their thesis in a period of around 6 months! Towards the end of this period, and choosing upon the quality of the results, I push the students towards submitting their work for publication. That's the way to see the whole picture!
